They discussed programmes to be launched by the Ministry and NRSP and Sarhad Rural Support Programme (SRSP) for early rehabilitation of quake affected areas.
Jehangir Khan Tareen informed the Prime Minister that on his directions Utility Stores Corporation would soon open its outlets in the earthquake-affected areas where everything would be provided on subsidised rates, says a press release.
Talking to Shoaib Sultan, Prime Minister said that acting on his directions the USC would soon open its outlets in affected areas to provide everything on subsidized rates.
The Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz said community mobilisation could play major role in the early rehabilitation of earthquake affected areas.
He asked Shoaib Sultan to reach out to the people of earthquake hit areas and assist them and provide them in the rehabilitation work.
The people of Pakistan have shown an unprecedented level of volunteerism, and the spirit of people to work for the help of earthquake victims is very high. These sentiments need to be channelized and co-ordinated for better results, the Prime Minister said.
He urged upon Sarhad Rural Support Programme and National Rural Support Programme to prepare a comprehensive plan for involving all segments of communities in the rehabilitation work.
He assured NRSP of all government assistance required in completion of that task.
Sultan informed the Prime Minister that NRSP and SRSP would rehabilitate one hundred thousand families with the World Bank's assistance.
